Piotr Zielinski rules out Liverpool move

Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has all but ruled out the possibility of joining Liverpool by insisting that he wants to stay with the Italian outfit.

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the Poland international and were expected to revive their interest during the summer, having decided against making a move in the January transfer window.

However, the 24-year-old is "happy" at the Stadio San Paolo and has no desire to leave the club even if Jurgen Klopp's Premier League title challengers come knocking.

"New contract? I am happy at Napoli, I want to stay here five more years to help the team to improve," Zielinski is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"I am happy about my condition and I want to continue. [Maurizio] Sarri and [Carlo] Ancelotti are different and I want to thank Ancelotti for his trust.

"I can improve and score more goals, I try to improve every day, I want to reach the top."

Zielinski has a €65m (£55.8m) release clause in his current deal at Napoli, where he has been since joining from Udinese in 2016.
