Marc Guehi is reportedly unhappy with Crystal Palace after his failed move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day.
After completing the deal for Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, the Reds pushed hard to sign Guehi in the final hours on Monday, and despite submitting a transfer deal sheet, the move did not materialise.
The Reds had agreed a £35m deal for the former Chelsea centre-back, and he even completed his first part of the medical in London so that the move could be sorted out quickly.
However, the Eagles changed their mind after failing to sign West Ham United new boy Igor Julio, who was seen as a replacement for Guehi.
Oliver Glasner was not willing to let the England international depart without another defensive reinforcement coming in, and as a result, the move fell through.
Guehi unhappy with Crystal Palace after failed move
The 25-year-old remained professional throughout the transfer saga, as he was certain that the club would let him complete his dream move to Liverpool.
According to a report from The Guardian, Guehi is extremely unhappy with Palace's decision, which came after Glasner stepped in to prevent the move.
The report claims that Palace chairman, Steve Parish, changed his mind at the last minute after Glasner, whose own contract at Selhurst Park expires next summer, said he would walk out if the deal goes through.
Journalist Ed Aarons wrote on X that Guehi is planning to release a statement soon, and he is considering whether to continue as Palace captain.
At the moment, there is no suggestion that he will not play for Palace again, but other members of the squad are upset that the former Chelsea centre-back was denied an excellent opportunity to join Liverpool.
Liverpool could make a move for him in January
The Premier League champions reportedly offered Joe Gomez as part of the deal to facilitate Guehi's proposed move to Anfield, but in the end, it did not materialise.
Liverpool have no option but to rely on the existing defenders they have, but chances are high that they will move for him again in the January window, when his price will be reduced.
Guehi will also be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club in January, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Juventus reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation.
