Report: Liverpool to battle AC Milan for Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi

Liverpool have expressed an interest in signing Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has been deemed one of the bright lights in a team that suffered relegation from the Premier League in 20th place last season.

With Jose Enrique departing Merseyside and Alberto Moreno having come under criticism, the Sunday Express claims that Jurgen Klopp is willing to splash out around £12m to secure Amavi's signature.

Serie A giants AC milan and French outfit Bastia are also said to be keen on Amavi, who was ruled out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury while playing for France Under-21s in November 2015.
