Liverpool 'still not tempted into bid for cut-price Philippe Coutinho'

Liverpool 'still not tempted into Coutinho bid'

Liverpool are reportedly unlikely to make an approach for Philippe Coutinho, regardless of the asking price of the Barcelona playmaker.

Since allowing the Brazilian to move to Camp Nou in January 2018, Liverpool have progressed into one of the best teams in Europe, winning last season's Champions League and moving to the brink of ending their wait for a Premier League title.

However, with Barcelona increasingly desperate to part ways with the 28-year-old in a bid to cut costs, there has been talk of a return to Anfield.

Despite Coutinho now said to be available for £63m, The Mirror suggests that the alleged development has not changed Liverpool's stance regarding the player.

The report reiterates that the decision to withdraw from the race for Timo Werner highlights that the Merseyside giants will not pay over £50m for any player this summer.

Coutinho has spent the campaign on loan at Bayern, who have little interest in pushing through a permanent deal.
