Liverpool will not swoop for Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta in January, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly not interested in a swoop for Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

Paqueta, 21, made his senior Brazil debut in August, and has been linked with a number of European clubs.

Liverpool were said to be lining up a January bid for the South American, but according to the Evening Standard, the Reds are not interested in Paqueta, with club sources 'baffled' by the reports.

Paqueta has scored 11 times in 48 appearances for Flamengo during 2018 and is fast closing on 100 appearances for the Brazilian outfit in all competitions.

AC Milan are said to be the current frontrunners for the versatile midfielder.
