Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers interested in Cardiff City's Steven Caulker?

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants to sign centre-back Steven Caulker from Cardiff City, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Steven Caulker from Cardiff City in the summer.

According to The Telegraph, Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to recruit a centre-back at the end of the season and has identified the 22-year-old as a potential target.

Caulker, who joined Cardiff from Tottenham Hotspur last summer for £8.5m, worked with the Northern Irishman at Swansea City in the 2011-12 season during a loan spell from Spurs.

However, the report adds that Liverpool's transfer committee has yet to confirm if it is willing to back Rodgers in his attempt to sign Caulker.
