Feyenoord sporting director Martin van Geel has admitted that the club are unlikely to sign Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt in the summer.
Kuyt, 31, had been linked with a move to his former club at the end of the season, but Van Geel has insisted that financial issues will play a role.
"Dirk would fit in really well here, and we would love to see him return this summer. However, our chances of re-signing him this summer are very slim," he told Eredivisie Live.
"Even if we manage to qualify for the Champions League, that will not increase our budget for new players. We don't include income from European games in our budget, so we can't afford any big expenses."
Kuyt has also been linked with moves to Roma and Hamburg in recent weeks.
