Federico Chiesa reportedly rejected the chance to move to Liverpool in a £60m deal in order to sign for Juventus.
The Euro 2020 winner is in the second of a two-year loan deal at Juve from Fiorentina, with the Old Lady set to acquire his services permanently next summer.
Chiesa garnered plenty of interest from clubs outside Italy during his days with Fiorentina, and Liverpool supposedly had an agreement in place with the Viola before the attacker opted to head for Turin.
Speaking to RTV38, journalist Niccolo Ceccarini said: "Fiorentina had reached an agreement with Liverpool for 70 million euros (£60m), but the negotiations did not go through due to the boy's desire to go to Juventus."
Chiesa has since registered 17 goals and 13 assists in 59 appearances for the Old Lady, including three strikes and three assists from 16 games in all tournaments this term.
The 24-year-old continues to be linked with a move elsewhere, though, with Chelsea rumoured to be plotting an £84m swoop in 2022.
