Johan Cruyff has played down speculation linking him with a role at Liverpool.
The former Ajax attacker was rumoured to be a contender to take over from director of football Damien Comolli, who left the club last week.
However, Cruyff has insisted that he currently has no plans to take a job at Anfield.
"I see my name is being mentioned in connection with Liverpool," he told Dutch newspaper De Telegraff. "I don't know where that has come from, because I have not heard anything from them.
"There has been no contact whatsoever. If you just read speculation like this, without any substance to it, there is no point taking it seriously. It is just talk."
Cryuff recently vacated his role as a board member with Ajax.
