Emre Can deal 'to be announced after Champions League semi-final'

Can deal 'to be announced after CL semi'

Official confirmation of the deal which will take Emre Can from Liverpool to Juventus will reportedly arrive after Wednesday's Champions League semi-final.

Can's future has been the subject of much debate all season, with the Germany international's current deal at Anfield expiring at the end of the campaign.

Liverpool remained hopeful that he would extend his stay on Merseyside, but he has been free to speak to foreign clubs since January and reports in Italy are now claiming that he has agreed a five-year deal with Serie A champions Juventus.

The deal was originally expected to be announced after the Champions League final at the end of the campaign, but the Liverpool Echo reports that confirmation will now take place after the semi-final.

Liverpool will go into the second leg against Roma with a three-goal advantage following their thrilling 5-2 victory at Anfield last week.

The Reds are bidding to reach their first Champions League final since 2007, whereas Roma have not graced the showpiece since losing to Liverpool in the 1984 final.
