Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has insisted that goalkeeper Pepe Reina's claims that he was not informed about his loan move to Napoli are "untrue".
The Spain international stated that the club decided against telling him before reaching an agreement with the Italian club.
"The idea that he didn't know is not true," Ayre told Sky Sports News. "We wish him well and he's still our player."
Reina has been reunited with former boss Rafael Benitez at Napoli.
