Brendan Rodgers "not worried" about future at Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is confident that his future at the club is secure ahead of the Merseyside derby despite his side's struggles this season.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he is not worried about his future at the club ahead of the Merseyside derby.

The 42-year-old has come under growing pressure due to his side's underwhelming performances this season, which was heightened by their inability to defeat Sion at Anfield during the week in their Europa League clash.

However, Rodgers is adamant that his future is secure at the club despite their struggles, and is confident that he has the support of the Reds' owners and chief executive Ian Ayre.

He told reporters: "I am not worried. I am not worried, and that is not being arrogant or having been given any assurances. I will do my best with what I am working with and our notion is to win the game."

When asked if he had been given a guarantee by the Fenway Sports Group, he added: "No, but I don't want you take that they haven't reassured me.

"We have exchanged text messages and I have spoken to Ian. There is no change there. No drama, sorry lads."

Liverpool face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
