Result: Galatasaray 3-0 Liverpool

A brace from former Liverpool striker Milan Baros helped Galatasaray to a 3-0 victory over the Merseysiders in Istanbul.

The Czech put the Turkish side ahead after eight minutes with a volley before doubling his side's lead before half-time with a close-range header.

The Reds, captained by Sotirios Kyrgiakos, were much improved in the second half but were unable to stop the hosts extending their lead as former Bolton striker Johan Elmander secured the win with a volley late on.

Liverpool continue their pre-season with a fixture away at Norwegian side Valerenga on Monday, August 1.
