Suarez 'paying price' for reputation

Stoke City assistant manager Dave Kemp believes that Luis Suarez's reputation as a diver is preventing referees from allowing the Liverpool striker correct decisions when he's fouled.

Stoke City assistant manager Dave Kemp believes that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is not getting correct decisions from referees because of his reputation as a diver.

The Uruguay international was not awarded a penalty in the Reds' 5-2 win over Norwich City last Saturday, despite being unfairly brought down in the box.

"Maybe he is paying the price for falling over in the past and maybe referees are suspicious every time he goes down now," Kemp told the Stoke Sentinel. "It was a blatant penalty at Norwich. If that had been us, I'd have been very annoyed."

The Potters travel to Anfield to face Liverpool this weekend.
