Luis Suarez determined to give his best for Liverpool

Luis Suarez says that he will give his all for Liverpool despite wanting to leave the club during the summer.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has pledged to give his all to the club despite appearing likely to leave during the summer.

The Uruguayan frequently expressed his desire to leave Anfield during the transfer window in search of Champions League football, with a proposed bid from Arsenal leaving the player and manager Brendan Rodgers at loggerheads.

However, Suarez returned for the Reds' 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday, and he insists that he will give 100% on the pitch for Liverpool.

"The result is not good because we lost but the feeling is good because we played very well, we created chances and we missed," Suarez told the club's official website.

"I know it was a difficult moment but for myself and for the team it's very important I'm back because I can help the team and [being] off the pitch I can't. We'll keep going for the week and for the next game.

"All the time I try my best on the pitch. I'm here to help the team and help Liverpool and I'll try my best."

Suarez was returning after serving a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
