Daniel Sturridge: Joining Liverpool was an "easy decision" to make

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge reveals that it was an "easy decision" to join the club in January 2013.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has revealed that it was an "easy decision" to join the club.

The forward moved to Anfield from Chelsea in January 2013 for a fee of around £12m, and the 24-year-old has blossomed into one of the deadliest hitmen in the Premier League this term, scoring 20 goals.

Speaking to Reds legend Robbie Fowler in an interview with the club's TV channel, Sturridge claimed that the history and heritage of the five-time European Cup winners made his mind up about making the switch from Stamford Bridge.

He said: "When Liverpool came calling it was an easy decision to make. No one had to tell me about the club, I knew all about it. No one had to sugar coat it for me to come here.

"Being here is me being part of the club, it has rubbed off on me. I knew about Liverpool before I moved here, they're one of the biggest clubs in England and one of the biggest teams in the world.

"I knew all about them watching the trophies that they have won and it is great to be a part of all that now. Hopefully we can make some [history] of our own.

Brendan Rodgers's side are currently top of the Premier League.
