Sturridge: 'I've taken Ibe under my wing'

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has revealed that he is giving Jordon Ibe guidance in order to help the youngster improve at Anfield.

Ibe made his debut in 2013, and became a regular member of the squad under former manager Brendan Rodgers and current boss Jurgen Klopp.

Sturridge, who is seen as one of the senior members of the team, has struggled with injuries over the last 18 months, but is working behind the scenes to help Ibe.

"I've got a lot of love for him, I've taken him under my wing," Sturridge told Soccer AM. "When I was his age, I didn't necessarily have a player who would have me every single day, push me and make me improve as a footballer. That's what I try to do with him."

Sturridge joined Liverpool from Chelsea two years ago.
