Raheem Sterling: 'Manchester City players more experienced than Liverpool team'

Raheem Sterling says that he has noticed a step up in the calibre of players since moving to Manchester City from Liverpool.

Raheem Sterling has admitted that he has noticed a difference in calibre of player since switching to Manchester City from Liverpool.

The England international, who signed for the former Premier League champions in the summer for a reported £49m fee, has scored six goals in 15 appearances in all competitions.

"There are more experienced players here," Sterling told the Manchester Evening News.

"Obviously, Liverpool had many great players as well but the players here have been at the highest level for many years and you can definitely see that on the training pitch.

"The tempo, the passing, the two-touch movement in training; it's really surprised me. It's really sharp, really good to be involved in."

Sterling is likely to play in this Sunday's match against Aston Villa.
