Salah granted international break by Egypt

Liverpool have been given a major boost as forward Mohamed Salah will not be called up by Egypt for next month's matches.

The Pharaohs are scheduled to face Nigeria in a friendly on March 22 and Niger in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier four days later.

Salah has been granted international leave by the Egyptian Football Association, however, meaning that he can rest up ahead of the business end of the season.

Egyptian FA vice-president Ahmed Shobier told KingFut: "Mohamed Salah will not play the Niger game in the AFCON qualifiers or the Nigeria friendly."

Salah has appeared 32 times for Liverpool this season in all competitions and has also been used four times by Egypt since the World Cup.

West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazy is also expected to be give the fortnight off by the African nation.
