Brendan Rodgers: 'Liverpool on the right road'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that his team is on the "right road" to winning the Premier League title in the coming years.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that his team is on the "right road" to winning the Premier League title in the next few years.

The Reds, who were last crowned English champions in 1990, are currently four points off the top of the table with eight games left to play.

Despite admitting that his players are "nowhere near the finished article", Rodgers has warned their rivals that they are only getting better.

"We haven't won it for a long time and it may or may not be this year but there is no doubt we are on the right road to winning a title here," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We are nowhere near the finished article but we are evolving and I take great pride in that. While we are learning and improving we will hopefully continue to pick up points."

Liverpool continue their Premier League campaign on Wednesday when Sunderland visit Anfield.
