Rodgers confident of UCL qualification

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that a top-four finish is still 'absolutely possible' this season.

Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal represented another setback for the Reds in their pursuit of Champions League qualification.

Rodgers's side sit 10th in the Premier League, nine points behind fourth-placed West Ham United, but the Northern Irishman says that his side have proven that a lengthy winning streak is not beyond them.

"Can we still make the top four? Absolutely," he is quoted as saying by The Independent.

""We have got to make up points, but I think we have showed that this is a group that can go on a run of games.

"In the second half of last season we went on a run of 11 games. If we can put a run together that can very quickly move you up the table."

Martin Skrtel headed a last-gasp equaliser to salvage a point for the Merseysiders - who have won just two of their last nine league outings - at Anfield yesterday.
