Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers: 'Anfield could give us advantage'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers believes that a trip to Anfield will be a tough prospect for title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that a visit to Anfield could be a daunting prospect for Premier League title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.

The Reds moved two points clear at the top of the table on Sunday with a 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

With City and Chelsea to come in Liverpool's next two matches at Anfield, Rodgers has claimed that home advantage could prove crucial for his side as they look to win their first league title since 1990.

"There's no doubt that they (City and Chelsea) understand this is going to be a tough place to come," FourFourTwo quotes him as saying.

"We love playing here, the support (against Tottenham) was incredible and that's only going to intensify as the season goes on.

"You can see that it works for us rather than against us."

Liverpool have won 14 of their 16 league matches at Anfield this season.
