Pepe Reina undergoes hernia operation

Pepe Reina has undergone double hernia surgery in Munich.

The Liverpool goalkeeper, who played in the club’s every game last season, had scheduled the non-urgent operation to take place after the campaign.

“Liverpool today confirmed that Pepe Reina has undergone successful surgery on a double hernia,” said the club’s official site.

“The Spanish international will now begin a rehabilitation programme and is expected to return with the rest of the squad for pre-season training next month.”
