Parliament will hold a debate over the release of Hillsborough files for the first time in 13 years, it has been announced.
Over 140,000 people signed an e-petition in favour of the release following a request from MP Steve Rotheram.
On his Twitter account, Rotheram wrote: "Confirmation: Hillsborough debate agreed - October 17 for half a day in the House of Commons Chamber with a vote on the motion if necessary."
Current Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and former boss Rafael Benitez added their signatures to the petition.
