Owen: 'Point not end of world for Liverpool'

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes that a point against Crystal Palace does not spell doom for the Merseyside outfit in the Premier League title race.

The Reds were stunned by Tony Pulis's men at Selhurst Park after letting go of a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 on Monday evening.

Despite tears from Luis Suarez at the final whistle, the title race will still go down to the final game of the season as Liverpool have a one-point lead over Manchester City in the table.

The 2012 champions are favourites to take the crown as they need four points from their last two games against Aston Villa and West Ham United, while Liverpool need a win against Newcastle United on Sunday to remain in contention.

After the result at Palace, Owen wrote on Twitter: "Once the dust has settled, a bit like Man City v Sunderland, that point for Liverpool may not be the end of the world.

"A helping hand was always required from Aston Villa or West Ham. That's still the case. Win, lose or draw, Liverpool have been outstanding."

Manager Brendan Rodgers believes that there is "no doubt" that City will go on to win the title after Liverpool dropped points.
