Gary Neville "concerned" Liverpool could pip Manchester United to top four

Neville "concerned" by Liverpool threat

Gary Neville has expressed his 'concern' over the possibility of Liverpool beating Manchester United to a place in the top four.

The two long-standing rivals are expected to be fighting it out for the final Champions League spot come the end of the season.

Following Liverpool's revival, in which they have lost just once in 15 Premier League games, Neville is worried that Louis van Gaal's United side might miss out on a top-four place.

"For the first time this season I am concerned as to whether Manchester United can fight them off in the scrap for the Champions League places," Neville wrote in his column for The Telegraph.

"I've backed United all season, and I won't be changing my mind at this stage, but it's fair to say Liverpool have emerged as much more of a threat than I considered a few weeks ago."

United currently occupy fourth spot, while Liverpool are two points behind in sixth.
