Avram Grant: 'Lazar Markovic one of the best young players in world'

Avram Grant claims that Lazar Markovic is one of the best young players he has seen ahead of the Serbian's proposed move to Liverpool/

Avram Grant has claimed that Lazar Markovic is one of the finest talents in world football for his age.

The 20-year-old is expected to complete a move from Benfica to Liverpool later this week, and Grant, who managed the attacking midfielder at Partizan Belgrade, believes that very few players possess more ability than him.

"I can say that apart from [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi, Markovic is one of the best talents I've ever seen at 19 years of age," the former Chelsea manager is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

Markovic is set to become the fourth player to sign for Liverpool this summer following the acquisitions of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can.
