Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has described the moment he made his club debut 15 years ago, stating that it was a 'dream come true'.
The Reds skipper made his debut for the club in a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on November 28, 1998 and he told the Liverpool Echo the emotions he felt minutes before he took to the pitch.
"All my family were there, and I was itching to get on," said Gerrard.
"I had about 25 tickets because before the game I thought there was a slim chance for me to run out for Liverpool for the first time.
"I was warming up down towards Phil Thompson shouted to me [to come on]. That was one of the best feelings I've ever had as a football player. I didn't want the final whistle to blow. When I sat down in the dressing room afterwards my dream had come true."
Gerrard will be part of the Liverpool squad that take on Hull City on Sunday.
