Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish hails the commitment of his players and claims that their dramatic 3-2 win against Blackburn was never in doubt.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has heaped praise upon his players following their dramatic 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers tonight.

Andy Carroll scored an injury-time winner to give the Reds their first victory in five games, and Dalglish was keen to hail the commitment of his players, although he claimed that the win was never in doubt.

"We want to wax lyrical about the players' attitude and commitment. When you consider what they've been through, we've not had the best of times, but to go out and get a man sent off and come away here with a 3-2 victory it speaks great credit for them," the Liverpool boss told Sky Sports News.

"We're absolutely delighted for them, it's been a smashing day for us. We're going to give the boys all the credit they deserve because they've had a bit of abuse recently so let's give them a bit of credit."

When asked if he always expected the Reds to win, Daglish said: "Definitely. The way they were playing, the attitude and commitment, we always thought there would be a chance."

The win moves Liverpool within one point of Merseyside rivals Everton, who they will meet in the FA Cup semi-final this Saturday.
