Philippe Coutinho: 'I'm still looking to improve'

Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho says that he is still trying to improve as a player, despite scoring three goals during the club's pre-season.

Philippe Coutinho has insisted that he is still striving to improve his game as he prepares for the start of the new Premier League season.

The Brazilian, who joined Liverpool in January, scored three goals during the club's pre-season fixtures.

The 21-year-old told Liverpool's official website: "We had a good pre-season and worked very hard and I believe we have prepared well for the beginning of the season.

"I feel I have prepared well physically but I personally have to improve all the time. That is always in my mind. I hope we have a good start to the season for the team and keep improving throughout.

"I think I have to think much faster, improve tactically and assist more when marking other players. I think I improved this during pre-season and hopefully will be able to apply them throughout the season."

Liverpool play in the opening game of the season tomorrow lunchtime against Stoke City.
