Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final clash with West Ham United.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been handed a boost over the fitness of Ryan Gravenberch ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final clash against West Ham United at Anfield.

The Reds lost the Dutchman to a suspected hamstring injury in their 0-0 draw with Manchester United at the weekend, although it has since been revealed that he was only fatigued.

Either way, it would be a shock to see Gravenberch involved from the start in midweek, where Alexis Mac Allister is also classed as a major doubt due to the knee injury he suffered against Sheffield United earlier this month.

Thiago Alcantara (hip), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), Andrew Robertson (shoulder), Joel Matip (ACL) and Diogo Jota (muscle) make up a quintet of known absentees for Liverpool, who have also lost young winger Ben Doak to a severe knee issue, but a raft of changes will be expected regardless.

The first alteration should occur in goal, where Caoimhin Kelleher will expect to get the nod over Alisson Becker, while Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez could form a new-look central pairing.

Gomez being deployed in front of Alisson would allow Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas to reprise their roles out wide, unless Klopp springs a surprise by starting Conor Bradley or Luke Chambers.

Wataru Endo is seemingly safe as Liverpool's number six given a lack of alternative options, but Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai - who did not enjoy his finest display for Liverpool on Sunday - could make way for Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott.

Mohamed Salah failed to score or assist at Anfield for the first time this season against Man United, but the Egyptian should start in attack given Doak's new injury, most likely with Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo accompanying him.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Quansah, Tsimikas; Elliott, Endo, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz
