Lucas Leiva injury doubt for Liverpool's clash against Manchester City

Jurgen Klopp reveals that Lucas Leiva is a doubt for Liverpool's clash against Manchester City on Wednesday because of a muscle problem.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Lucas Leiva is unlikely to feature in Wednesday's Premier League match against Manchester City at Anfield.

The Brazilian switched from his traditional midfield position to centre-back alongside Mamadou Sakho for Sunday's League Cup final defeat to City at Wembley.

The 29-year-old also took a penalty in the shootout, but it was saved by Wilfredo Caballero, who was preferred to number one Joe Hart on the night.

In Tuesday's press conference, Klopp told reporters that Lucas has a muscle problem and is unlikely to be in the squad for their mid-week match.

Lucas has played as a defender numerous times this season due to the injury problems at the back.
