Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

For the fourth time already in 2023, familiar foes Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers will pit their wits against one another as the Reds welcome Julen Lopetegui's men to Anfield for Wednesday's Premier League fixture.

Reds fans and Crystal Palace supporters had a hard time staying awake in Saturday's dull goalless draw at Selhurst Park, although that point was enough to lift Liverpool into seventh in the table.

Jurgen Klopp's men needed a replay to dump Wolves out of the third round of the FA Cup last month, but they were outclassed, outfought and humiliated 3-0 at Molineux only three weeks ago.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Lopetegui's men, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham on Friday night.

Darwin Nunez

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: March 1 (vs. Wolves)

Darwin Nunez was cleared to play against Real Madrid in midweek despite suffering a shoulder injury against Newcastle United, but the issue has since flared up and prevented him from turning out against Palace. Klopp is hopeful that the Uruguayan will be fit and firing for Wednesday's game, though.

Joe Gomez

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: March 1 (vs. Wolves)

Joe Gomez was another fresh concern for the trip to Palace due to a hamstring problem which he sustained against Real Madrid, and it is difficult to see the centre-back proving his fitness in time for Wednesday.

Luis Diaz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: March 11 (vs. Bournemouth)

Luis Diaz is on track to return from his troublesome knee injury at some point in March, but as he is yet to rejoin his teammates for training, it will not be this week.

Arthur

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: March 1 (vs. Wolves)

Despite training with the first team for a couple of weeks following thigh surgery, Arthur is yet to make his return to Jurgen Klopp's squad. However, the Brazilian played the full 90 minutes for the Under-21s in their 7-1 thumping of Leicester City at the weekend and could now come into contention for his Premier League debut.

Ibrahima Konate

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: March 1 (vs. Wolves)

Ibrahima Konate is now back in full training following a hamstring injury, and while he was not given the green light to take on Palace, the Frenchman could force his way back into the ranks for Wednesday's contest.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: March 15 (vs. Real Madrid)

Thiago Alcantara had seemingly consigned his Anfield fitness woes to history, but the Spaniard is now dealing with a fresh hip problem, and he will not be back for at least another couple of weeks.

Calvin Ramsay

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Teenage right-back Calvin Ramsay is on the long road to recovery from knee surgery and will not play again this season.
