Liverpool injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Premier League champions Liverpool got their title defence off to a winning start on the opening day and will be looking to follow that up when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Reds were nervy, error-strewn and disorganised in defence, but thrilling going forward in a madcap 4-3 win over newly-promoted Leeds United at Anfield to make an eye-catching start to the campaign.

In addition to the three points and three goals for Mohamed Salah, the return of captain Jordan Henderson from injury was another bonus from the contest for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The injury troubles which plagued Xherdan Shaqiri last season have crept into the new campaign too, although the Swiss playmaker could be back in contention in time for Sunday.


Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the opening weeks of the new season after picking up a knee injury similar to the one which ruled Henderson out of the tail end of last term.
