Daniel Sturridge hails Liverpool character after FA Cup progress

Daniel Sturridge hails Liverpool's character after their 2-1 win against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has hailed the side's character after they came from behind to book their place in the last eight of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Fraizer Campbell gave the Eagles the lead at Selhurst Park, but Sturridge fired in a second-half equaliser before Adam Lallana tucked away the winning goal.

The fit-again England international was delighted with side's determination to produce the comeback.

He told BT Sport: "It was a difficult first half when they got the goal. We showed the character that we always do when we go behind, to keep fighting. In the end, we deserved to win.

"It's good to help the team, that's all that matters. I'm happy to be back playing and back from the injury. Every game for us is a big game and we have to concentrate on each game."

Sturridge has scored two goals since returning from a five-month injury layoff last month.
