Jordan Henderson 'frustrated' by Liverpool's failure to kill off Augsburg game

Henderson 'frustrated' not to kill off game

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted that it is "frustrating" not to have killed the game off in his side's round-of-32 second leg against Augsburg in the Europa League on Thursday.

Jurgen Klopp's side took the lead at Anfield with a fifth-minute penalty from James Milner, but they squandered a further 23 attempts with the knowledge that Augsburg needed just one away goal to progress.

In the end, Liverpool's 1-0 scoreline was enough to send the Merseyside outfit through.

"It's frustrating," Henderson told BT Sport. "We created a lot of chances and we should be scoring two or three and killing the game off. Still, a lot of positives to come out of it and we'll look forward to Sunday's [Capital One Cup final] now.

"We've got to give credit to Augsburg - they put us under pressure at times. Overall we coped well and we go on to the next round."

Liverpool's round-of-16 opponents will be decided in tomorrow's draw in Nyon.
