Liverpool face daunting Champions League draw

Liverpool's weak European co-efficient means that they are likely to be handed a tough Champions League draw next season.

Liverpool will have to face the prospect of a tough Champions League draw after they were confirmed in Pot 3 for next season's tournament.

The news means the Reds will almost certainly be drawn against the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich in their group.

Brendan Rodgers's side haven't been part of Europe's premier competition since 2009, and their weak co-efficient means that they could also meet Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain or Juventus from Pot 2.

However, Rodgers will take solace from the fact that his team do not have to negotiate a tricky qualifying fixture to enter the tournament, having finished second in the Premier League last term.
