Alberto Aquilani has revealed that he wants to see Roma overcome Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals.
Between 2009 and 2012, Aquilani was contracted to Liverpool but the midfielder only made 28 appearances for the Merseyside giants in all competitions.
Aquilani began his career at the Italian giants, and although he expects Liverpool to pose a tough test, the Las Palmas player feels that Roma have been given a good chance to progress through to the final.
The 33-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport: "You know I'll be cheering for Roma. Look out though, [Jurgen] Klopp is good at taking care of the defensive phase, even if their real strength is in attack. They're fast and powerful.
"That said, I think it's a good draw for Roma, it would have been worse with Bayern Munich or Real Madrid."
The first leg takes place at Anfield on Tuesday night.
