Rudi Garcia: "We are cursed"

Rudi Garcia says that his Lille team is "cursed" after they lost 2-0 at Nancy.

Lille manager Rudi Garcia has said that his side is "cursed" following their 2-0 defeat at Rennes.

Les Dogues are sitting 15th in Ligue 1 having won just one of their seven games so far this season.

Their solitary win came on the opening day of the season against Saint-Etienne.

Julien Feret and Romain Alessandrini scored the goals that condemned the champions of 2010-11 to their third defeat of the season at the Route de Lorient.

Garcia said that he is happy with how his team performed, but admitted that they lacked the clinical touch in front of goal.

"I get the feeling that at the moment we are cursed and success is eluding us," Ligue1.com has quoted Garcia as saying.

"We hit the post in the first half and the crossbar in the second, two chances that would have put us ahead or got us back into the game. Rennes had two chances and scored on both occasions.

"We played quite well but lack a bit of cutting edge and unfortunately Rennes took advantage of that. By not scoring we exposed ourselves to what happened. You can't fault the players, they gave their all."

Lille travel to Valencia on Tuesday for matchday two in the Champions League.
