Lille coach Rudi Garcia praises his players for their performance in their 2-1 away victory over Bastia in Ligue 1.

Lille coach Rudi Garcia has expressed his delight at his side's 2-1 away win against Bastia in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Lucas Digne and Marko Basa scored twice in the last five minutes at Stade Armand Cesari to earn all three points for the visitors.

"It was a last-gasp win, but it was also a very important one," he told reporters on Sunday. "We knew it would be a tough mission and that was borne out throughout the match, even though we did have some chances that we could have done better with. And I'm not forgetting that Bastia had two big chances as well.

"It must have been a good game for the fans. Right now, we're not thinking about the Champions League because our main mission was to get all three points today in order to stay within striking distance of Marseille and Lyon. Lucas Digne scored the kind of goal he should be scoring more often. He has a thunderous left foot, and he's progressing in leaps and bounds.

"Our bench was very important tonight; it's a win for the whole squad. We could have been more effective in attack, but in the end, I repeat that the most important thing was getting the win. We've taken 17 points this season in matches where we've fallen behind. So it's certainly no accident that we won out today."

Lille are currently fourth in Ligue 1 with 56 points from 33 matches.
