Leyton Orient vs. Barrow - prediction, team news, lineups

Two teams in the bottom half of the League Two table will meet on Saturday as Barrow make the journey to face Leyton Orient, who are just four places above them right now.

However, the visitors will be placing their concentration on pushing away from the relegation zone right now, with just six points keeping them.

Match preview

Despite not having an ideal season, Leyton Orient have hit form at the business end, and they head into this match with a six-game unbeaten run because of that.

These performances have helped push them away from the relegation battle, with the club boasting a 12 point cushion between themselves and the drop zone at the moment.

The O's drew four fixtures in a row, which they then followed with consecutive victories, bringing plenty of confidence into Saturday's fixture as they look to make that three on the bounce.

Richie Wellens has seen his team step up their attacking abilities, scoring six goals in their two wins, which included their recent 3-0 performance against Harrogate Town.

Aaron Drinan got himself a brace in that match, with Ruel Sotiriou also getting on the scoresheet, with the club now putting their focus on trying to finish in the top half.

For Barrow, the goal is just about survival right now, as they are only six points above the relegation zone, placing real pressure onto each match, including this weekend.

The squad suffered a 2-1 defeat against Carlisle United last weekend, who were close to them in the league, with the goal from Oliver Banks not being enough to get them back into the game.

The club have now made a managerial change, with Phil Brown taking over until the end of this season, and he will be hoping to bring his experience to things in order to guide Barrow away from relegation.

They have only managed to win eight games throughout the campaign, which has been part of the problem for them, which they will be hoping to start changing now.

However, when they last met Leyton Orient, Barrow were able to take a point away from the game with a 1-1 draw, as Robbie Gotts got himself on the scoresheet to help his team that day, and now they will want to kick on and go one step further.

Team News

After picking up three goals between the two of them, neither Drinan nor Sotiriou will be expecting to be dropped from the Leyton Orient team at the weekend.

Following an impressive 3-0 victory, there is little reason for any changes as far as the O's are concerned, which could see Wellens go with the same starting XI.

Barrow could bring a totally different lineup from what fans have come to expect at the weekend, depending on what decisions Brown decides to take with his squad.

The team does not have any fresh injury concerns to worry about, which the new boss will be pleased with, although Tom Beadling will miss out due to suspension.

Leyton Orient possible starting lineup:

Vigouroux; Thompson, Ogie, Beckles, Wood; Khan, Kyprianou, Pratley; Drinan, Sotiriou, Archibald

Barrow possible starting lineup:

Farman; Platt, Canavan, Brough; Gotts, Banks, White, Driscoll-Glennon, Rooney; Holloway, Gordon

We say: Leyton Orient 2-1 Barrow

Barrow will welcome a brand-new manager into the dugout this weekend, and that could bring a bounce and reaction from the club, which they desperately need.

However, Leyton Orient do boast more experience and a slightly stronger squad, and that is something that should see them just edge what will be a competitive game.
