Leyton Orient president charged by FA for kicking own assistant

Leyton Orient president Francesco Becchetti is charged with misconduct by the Football Association for seemingly kicking O's assistant Andy Hessenthaler.

The Football Association has charged Leyton Orient president Francesco Becchetti with misconduct.

The charge relates to an incident at the end of the Boxing Day victory over Portsmouth when Becchetti appeared to kick O's assistant Andy Hessenthaler.

The FA has alleged that Becchetti's behaviour amounts to violent and/or improper conduct.

Orient played down the exchange in a statement, saying that it was "very much in good humour for both the president and assistant manager and part of an ongoing and good-natured exchange between the two over the past few weeks".

Becchetti has until 6pm on January 4 to respond to the charge.
