Lens, Caen ends goalless

Lens and Caen have played out a goalless draw at the Stade Felix Bollaert to remain locked on points in Ligue 1.

Lalaina Nomenjanahary managed to get away the game's first shot on goal on 16 minutes, but his effort was well kept out by Remy Vercoutre.

The hosts had a good chance to make the breakthrough on the brink of half time, yet following a scramble inside the box the ball was eventually cleared.

Lens were gifted a glorious chance to take the lead with a little over an hour played through Yoann Touzghar, but he failed to convert from six yards out.

Touzghar went down in the box shortly after, although shouts for a penalty were quickly waved away.

Both sides looked to find a winner in the closing stages, but it was not to be with the game ending in a stalemate.
