Marcin Wasilewski signs Leicester City extension

Marcin Wasilewski extends his Leicester City contract until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Leicester City have announced that defender Marcin Wasilewski has signed a new contract.

The Polish centre-back was due to be released this summer but the 34-year-old has signed a one-year extension at the King Power Stadium.

Wasilewski played a prominent role in helping the Foxes secure their Premier League survival against the odds, with the team rooted to the bottom of the table in March. He started their last six league outings and helped City record four clean sheets.

Wasilewski joined the club in 2013 from Anderlecht.
