Nigel Pearson: 'We always had belief we could survive'

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson reveals that he and his side always had belief that they would remain in the Premier League this season.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has admitted that everyone at the club was always confident that they could survive in the Premier League this season.

The Foxes looked certain to be relegated back to the Championship in March when they were bottom of the top flight with nine matches remaining in the season.

However, Pearson's men went on a miraculous run of form to claim victories in six of their next seven games, and secured their safety with a point against Sunderland following Hull City's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

He told the club's official website: "If you believe in what you do you've got a chance. Even in our most difficult moments, players had integrity about their work.

"We want to finish on a high. We have one game left, we want to win it and then begin our preparation for next season.

"Would have been nice to win today, but we were solid and ultimately got over the line on our own steam."

Leicester play Queens Park Rangers at the King Power Stadium on the final day of the season.
