Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has given his thoughts on a potential Premier League circuit breaker amid rising COVID-19 cases.
Despite the fact that several games have been postponed recently due to teams reporting high numbers of positive tests, the decision was made to continue with the usual festive fixture list.
Ninety positive cases were confirmed during the latest round of testing by the 20 teams that make up the division, but the upcoming Boxing Day matches are scheduled to go ahead.
"So I have been able to watch a bit of football in my spare time. My personal view on it is that as long as it is safe to play, for us players, for fans, then there is no reason for me to say we should stop," Tielemans told Sky Sports News.
"Some players, some teams have been out of it because it has been difficult to field a starting 11 or to have some bench players. My personal view, again, is if it's safe to play, let us carry on."
The Foxes have had two games postponed recently due to COVID-19 as their matches with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur did not take place, but they are set to be in action on Wednesday against Liverpool in the EFL Cup.
