Wes Morgan hails Leicester City desire

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan hails his side's desire after they moved seven points clear at the top of the table with a 1-0 victory over Southampton.

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has hailed the desire shown by his side during their 1-0 victory over Southampton at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

Morgan scored the only goal of the game as the Foxes won 1-0 for the fourth match in a row to move seven points clear at the top of the table and to within four wins of the title.

The result means that Leicester are in an even better position than they were at the start of the weekend following Tottenham Hotspur's draw with Liverpool on Saturday, and Morgan admitted that events at Anfield made them even more desperate to win this afternoon.

"We saw the [Tottenham] game yesterday was a draw and wanted to make the most of our opportunity," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"We really wanted it today. I've been getting a lot of stick because I haven't scored all season so it's great to shut them up. I was quite ill yesterday but obviously I wanted to play."

Leicester's next match sees them take on relegation-threatened Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
