Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has revealed that he has spoken with Kevin Phillips over the possibility of taking up a coaching role at the club.
The 40-year-old striker has joined the Foxes on a short-term deal until the end of the season, after being released by Crystal Palace.
Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "I'd like to introduce him to the coaching side of the club at a later date. We have spoken about that but, for this season, he wants to concentrate on playing and I am happy for that.
"He brings vast experience and quality, so forget the number that is associated with his name - and his age. He is a great addition to the club."
Phillips has scored 285 goals for nine different clubs during his 20-year career.
