Swansea City head coach Paul Clement says that friend Carlo Ancelotti is unlikely to consider replacing Craig Shakespeare as manager of Leicester City.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has revealed that he does not expect Carlo Ancelotti to be named as the new manager of Leicester City.

Ancelotti has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Craig Shakespeare, who was sacked as boss of the Foxes on Tuesday after registering just six points from eight matches in the Premier League.

However, Clement - who is a friend of Ancelotti having worked alongside the Italian in the dugout - has insisted that the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss will stay out of work until next season.

The 45-year-old told reporters: "I don't know. The last time I spoke to him he said he'd take time off and wants to go into club football again next summer. I don't see why that would have changed.

"He's going to have the rest of the year off. Good for him as well."

Swansea play host to Leicester at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
