Leeds 'facing Nahitan Nandez decision next week'

Leeds United will reportedly have to decide next week whether they are prepared to meet Cagliari's asking price for midfielder Nahitan Nandez.

The 25-year-old, who represented Uruguay at this summer's Copa America, is thought to be a leading target for the Whites ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

Nandez is now on holiday following his country's elimination to Colombia, but it is understood that Cagliari are keen to invest in a new midfielder this summer and want to know whether Nandez will be leaving.

According to La Nuova Sardegna, next week 'will be decisive', with Leeds needing to make a call on whether they are prepared to pay his Serie A side's asking price.

Nandez is thought to have a €36m (£30.1m) release clause in his contract, which has three years left to run, and Cagliari are believed to be asking for the full buy-out figure, potentially in instalments.

The South American, who recently addressed the speculation surrounding a potential move to Elland Road, scored twice and registered three assists in 34 appearances at club level last term.
